Chief Executive Officer
Daniel Bernardi is a noted scholar serving as Dean of the College of Liberal and Creative Arts at San Francisco State University. Also a Navy Reserve Officer, he was deployed to Iraq where developed and tested what became NarrativeTrack techniques for assessing the genesis of false narratives, their relationship to surrounding cultures and methods for defusing them. He is a co-author of Narrative Landmines: Rumors, Islamist Extremism, and the Struggle for Strategic Influence which explores how false narratives start, adversely affect communication and outreach efforts, and how to negate them. He has a PhD from UCLA and has received DOD grants directed at the understanding and countering of adversarial narratives and rumors.
Scott W. Ruston
Chief Narrative Officer
Scott Ruston supervises data acquisition and analytic research for NarrativeTrack, including developing, testing and executing methods that allow us to map a given narrative landscape in relation to the rumor clusters we track. He holds a PhD from USC with specialization in narrative theory and media studies, and is a co-author of Narrative Landmines: Rumors, Islamist Extremism, and the Struggle for Strategic Influence. A Captain in the Navy Reserve, he commands a Sixth Fleet support unit and deployed to East Africa in 2014.

Bill Salvin, founder and CEO of strategic partner Signal Bridge Communications, serves as the Chair of the Board of Advisors. Bill Salvin is one of the most in-demand and respected communications consultants in the country leading Signal Bridge, a firm dedicated to helping people communicate more effectively in high-pressure situations. Bill has trained thousands of people across a broad range of industries including energy, defense, aviation, aerospace, and academia. Bill has more than three decades of experience in communications training, corporate public relations, journalism, and military public affairs. Bill is a Captain in the United States Navy Reserve and serves as Officer in Charge of the Navy Reserve, Navy Office of Information in New York City.
